A couple of nights ago, Aussie Supermodel Miranda Kerr celebrated the Victoria’s Secret launch of their new Heavenly Kiss fragrance and I, Nick Verreos was lucky enough to have been invited! Besides Victoria's Secret, of course, Project Runway fans might recognize Miranda as the first model who came down the Bryant Park catwalk for Daniel Vosovic's Finale Show, wearing his blue and white brocade jacket with navy silk skirt (see below). And if you didn't , well, now you know!
The party was held at
Eva Longoria-Parker's Hollywood restaurant, Beso. I had never been there so I was very eager to check it out. Let me tell you, once inside, I was awestruck by the sheer size of it. Lots of space, high ceilings, it was like a Downtown LA Loft Space times three! The event was also co-sponsored by the liqueur
Chambord, which made for some sweet drinks being passed around. The food itself was delicious. I had some of the pizza, chicken tartare tacos (I know, sounds rather chi-chi, you won't find those in any Mexican restaurant that's for sure!) and my favorite: A steak-on-a-stick dipped in chimichurri sauce.
But enough about the cocktails and the food, who was there : Shane West, Christina Milian, Sarah Shahi, Chris Evans and a bevy of beautiful models. I did not see any other of the famous Victoria's Secret girls, though. I am sure they are either vacationing in Bali or doing one of those fabulous photo shoots somewhere in Cancun (poor things!). I was extra happy to see my friend--and fellow Project Runway designer-- Rami Kashou, who was wearing one of his own stylish cardigans. Note to self: Must order a Rami cardigan for Fall 2008! Absent from the party was Miranda's current main squeeze, actor Orlando Bloom. It was a fun party, oh and the perfume, by the way, smells really pretty. Sweet, watermelon-like with rose tendencies. My sister and my mom will be happy when I give her a sampling...
