My friend
Louie Anchondo, who lives in New York, was lucky enough to receive a ticket to see the one-time-only
Madonna "mini-concert" at the
Roseland Ballroom and took some photos (albeit a bit blurry, he apologized for that). He sent me these images which he took as the crowd was making their pilgrimage to Roseland, as well as the following photos from inside the concert, which he said was filled to capacity with a sea of gays (and their girlfriends). The concert was amazing and a special (surprise) highlight was
Justin Timberlake joining
Madonna on stage for all the fun.
Dolce & Gabbana designed all the costumes, including
Swarovski-studded track suits and guitar holsters (see above). As much as my friend could see, Miss M looked flawless and not a drip of sweat in sight! I'd love to know what anti-sweat matte make-up she uses! She performed almost all the songs from her new CD,
"Hard Candy", except (of course) my current favorite
"Beat Goes On". I like the CD but can't help but think that
it all sounds too "Nelly Furtado"--two years ago. Oh well,
still love my Madonna.
Above is a photo of my Diva friend
YO, captured from
the private VIP performance she did for Madonna, Justin and other A-list guests at the After Party at the Box. By the looks of it, it was very
avant-garde-Thierry Mugler/Jean Paul Gaultier-meets-latex bondage-Couture! (boy, that's a mouthful). I get a special feeling inside just thinking that my little ol'
YO performed in front of
Justin and
Madonna and wondering what the heck were they thinking...I'm sure she was taking mental notes for her next
W Magazine shoot with Steven Klein. I'll see Yo in NY next week and will congratulate her.
